NC State completes the sweep of cross town rival Tar Heels

Brett Williams made a spectacular play in the outfield to turn back a UNC rally and spark NC State past the Tar Heels 10-2.
NC State entered the weekend desperately needing a series win over the Tar Heels to continue hopes of a post season birth.  They did that and more by sweeping the weekend series against UNC.

On Saturday, Brett Williams and Cameron Conner drove in runs in the seventh and eighth innings Saturday, and NC State took advantage of three North Carolina errors to defeat the fifth-ranked Tar Heels 8-7 in the second game of the series.

Sunday Brett Williams continued his great weekend by killing a North Carolina rally with a spectacular double play from center field Sunday, and NC State used that momentum-changer to roll up a 10-2 victory over the Tar Heels, completing a three-game sweep at Doak Field at Dail Park.
